UDK Flashlight Tutorial

UDK Flashlight Tutorial On YouTube.

First add a player start into your level. Then go to the view tab browser windows actor classes. Go down to the Light branch, open it, and then open spot light branch. There will be three different lights, choose SpotLightMovable (click it) and then go to your level, right click under you player start and select AddSpotLightMovable Here. Rotate the spot light 90 ° to line it up with the way your player start is facing and you need to raise it to the correct height. After that right click the spot light movable and go to its properties. Scroll down to the Spotlight Component and change the outer cone angle to whatever you think a flashlight would be. Now go into kismet with the Spot Light Movable Selected. First when in kismet right click add an event Player Spawned. Then add an action attach to actor. Connect the OUT from player spawned to the IN on the attach to actor. Then right click on the attachment variable connector and select New Object Var Using SpotLightMovable_0. Right click and add a new variable player - then player again. There is really no need to use the offset in the attach to actor like I did in the video, I only did it to show you could. Now test your level out. If there are any problems leave a message and I will try to answer them.
